OUR 2026-2027 SEASON!!!

Flavio Betrayed: A Commedia

By Scott Ford
Original Compositions by Melissa Bergstrom
Directed by Rick Wyman

Performances: October 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 & 18 , 2026
At the Dassel History Center

“Flavio Betrayed” is a high-spirited comedy, filled with disguise, deceit, insults, romance, friendship, stinky cheese, and outrageous hats. Told in the traditional Commedia style through an undeniably modern lens, this romantic romp follows the delightfully convoluted story of our hero Flavio, whose best friend is trying to steal the hand of his beloved Isabella, while her father attempts to marry her off to another suitor who is considerably past his prime. This fast-paced comedy has something for everyone – highbrow humor, lowbrow humor, and everything in between.

“Flavio Betrayed” is presented through special arrangement with the author.

An O. Henry Christmas

By Howard Burman
Based on Stories by O. Henry
Directed by Tom Nelson

Performances: December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 & 13, 2026
At the Dassel History Center

After escaping wrongful imprisonment, a mysterious storyteller enters an abandoned railroad spur on the outskirts of New York City, Christmas Eve, 1893. In exchange for some hobo stew, "O.P." entertains a rag-tag mix of seemingly lost souls by spinning a few tales, and in the process rekindles the spirit of giving. He magically transforms the crew into players to stage O. Henry's "The Last Leaf" and "The Gift of the Magi," and others. Wordplay, trickery, sentimental holiday fare, this is a heartwarming alternative to all of those Christmas carols.

“An O. Henry Christmas” is presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

Dinner With the Boys

By Dan Lauria
Directed by David Metcalf

Performances: February 12, 13 (2 performances) & 14, 2027
at the Dassel History Center

In a temporary departure from our usual "family friendly" play choices, FungusAmongus has chosen to produce a show with a decidedly sinister edge for next season's MACT Fest/AACT Fest competition. "Dinner With the Boys" is a very dark comedy about two likeable-but-ruthless mafia hit men who have a penchant for gourmet cooking. It is hoped that the discerning festival adjudicators will find our production both horrifying and hilarious! Local performances will be restricted to patrons aged 18 or older, due to content which some will consider unsavory or disturbing ... but wickedly funny.

Twelfth Night

By William Shakespeare
Directed by Isaac Olson

Performances July 2027 in Dassel, Cokato and Surrounding Communities

Twelfth Night is a classic comedy by William Shakespeare about people going mad for love, mixed-up twins, a scheming servant, ridiculous relatives, and a wise fool. The play centers on Viola, a shipwrecked woman separated from her twin brother, who disguises herself as a man to work in the service of a handsome Duke. He is hopelessly in love with the Countess Olivia. And that's just the tip of the iceberg as an eclectic ensemble of supporting characters adds to the chaos and confusion. Twelfth Night delivers humor, mayhem, a dash of danger, and romance. The show will be performed indoors and outdoors at multiple venues in the Dassel, Cokato, and the surrounding communities.
